The Misty Mountain Foundation Award is given to students who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and made significant personal advancements in their literacy skills over the academic year, no matter what they choose to read. It's not about achieving the highest test scores, but acknowledging the tremendous strides and growth an individual student has made to improve their reading, writing, and comprehension abilities.

Recipients of the award are selected based on nominations from educators who observe their consistent effort, perseverance, and measurable progress. The award aims to celebrate the hard work and resilience of students, providing them with encouragement and reinforcing the importance of continuous learning in literacy. It highlights the belief that every student has the potential to grow, and that effort and improvement are as valuable as innate talent.

Any K-12 school can apply to be part of our program. Recipients of the award will be given a certificate and a copy of a Tolkien book (as funds dictate).
